MPA Assesses Temple
25/11/2009

As part of a social responsibility project, MPA Consulting Engineers have been appointed by Morlte Sooboo of the Mariamman Temple to undertake the structural assessment of the temple.

The Mariamman Temple is the oldest temple in Pretoria and was built in 1905. The temple was declared a national monument in 1982.  The Mariamman Temple is a spiritual place of worship for the Hindu community of Pretoria and this temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess who followers of Hinduism believe controls smallpox and other infectious diseases.

Jyothi Voolla, MPA Project Manager, states that, “by undertaking this structural assessment, we are contributing to preserving this natural monument.”
MPA has a policy of the unconditional commitment to the upliftment and development of all previously disadvantage individuals and communities.  This commitment extends beyond the daily practice in MPA’s office.  Within this social agenda, MPA remains committed to rendering engineering solutions that not only represent excellent engineering practices, but are reflective of innovative thinking geared to satisfy client demands and individual needs beyond the norm.
