Company History
Malani Padayachee & Associates (Pty) Ltd, better known as MPA was established on 1 July 1997 by Malani Padayachee-Saman, one of South Africa’s few professional female civil engineers. Today, the company is one of the few in the field of engineering headed by a female entrepreneur who has a majority shareholding. Initially, MPA’s focus was on the provision of services related to Urban Infrastructure, i.e. water, sanitation, roads and stormwater. More recently, the company has entered the Traffic and Transportation as well as the Structural Engineering fields successfully rivaling some of the bigger, more established players in the industry. MPA has always recognized that the company is only as successful as its employees.
Without them, their knowledge and their expertise, the company would not have excelled and grown to what it is today. In 2009, MPA identified an untapped market in Middelburg, Mpumalanga and subsequently established a new branch. This decision was consistent with the company’s belief of always staying abreast of the latest developments in the industry. It is also for this reason that MPA encourages its employees to be registered with the relevant engineering associations and bodies, which exposes them to new trends and developments in the industry. MPA Consulting Engineers carry both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
